Tobacco’s scandalous advertising

Since it all began, tobacco companies have invested billions of dollars in employing the greatest minds in the marketing, advertising and PR. The sole purpose of this investment was to create a demand for a product which killed 1 in 2 of the people who tried it and became dependant on it.

Such was the power of the advertising that the very act of setting fire to a paper tube filled with dead plant and plugged with a filter designed to not work properly, would now be perceived as something glamorous, cool, sexy and sophisticated.

Just check out some of the wording and ridiculous claims about smoking in these ads. If it wasn’t so deceitful it would be laughable.
